Spacenus is an independent agricultural verification company, founded in 2015 in Darmstadt, Germany. It produces plot-level evidence that regenerative practices happened and that soil carbon changed, combining satellite time-series analysis, physical soil sampling and RothC modelling into a four-stream verification methodology that issues a Digital Proof of Practice certificate. Spacenus does not issue carbon credits, operate farmer programmes, act as a certification standard or hold accredited verification body status. Clients keep their own auditor, standard and registry.

We built a continuous, multi-stream verification engine that cross-validates every claim against independent evidence, season-long. Each layer cross-checks the others. No. For scheme certification, accredited verification bodies remain the verifiers of record. Spacenus supplies the evidence pack they rely on, with pre-filled ISO 14064-3 and ISSA 5000 annexes, sampling frames, QA/QC logs and full chain of custody. Clients keep their own auditor, standard and registry. Spacenus is not a Validation/Verification Body and never becomes one.

Because revenue that varies with the size of a measured outcome creates an incentive toward a favourable number. Spacenus is paid to verify, like an audit firm, so its revenue does not change whether soil carbon rose or fell. Under the EU Carbon Removal Certification Framework, verification by an independent party is a legal requirement, not a positioning choice.

MRV cost sits under 5% of credit revenue per hectare. In the ESA SatMRV pilot it was 4.1% of projected credit revenue across 8,845 hectares of European arable farmland. Engagements usually start with a fixed-fee verification reuse audit, which is time-boxed and priced before any programme commitment. Farmer-side value is funded by the parties that need the evidence, never by the farmer.
