Spacenus pitched at the annual "Global Navigation meets Geoinformation" event at ESOC, Darmstadt. The event was hosted by the Centrum for satellite navigation (cesah), European Space Agency (ESA), State Office of Hesse for soil management and geoinformation (HLBG) and Digital Hesse. The focus of the conference was on two discussion rounds on "Big data from space - Geodata in the digital age" and "Quo vadis Big Geo-Data? Digital value creation in the future ", the prelude of the Hessian regional elimination in the annual idea competition European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) and the Copernicus Masters and several Start Ups Pitches, including us, Spacenus.
Riazuddin Kawsar and Lionel Born presented how digital tools can affect the efficiency of agriculture. As the world population will grow rapidly over the next decades, we must address and deal with the situation of how to provide all humans with adequate nutrition in future. For this, the agricultural land should be used sustainably. With the help of artificial intelligence and satellite imagery, it is our vision to determine the currently varying nutrient demand in the fields and thus to be able to calculate an exact fertilization recommendation for farmers. This method makes it possible for farmers to optimally use their resources and distribute them appropriately. Therefore, we are developing a system that will support farmers in their daily work. Spacenus was also excited to contribute as an exhibitor. It offered a great possibility to network and discuss with many stakeholders from different and relevant sectors, regarding recent projects and topics. We learned a lot.

After the event a guiding tour through the ESOC was offered, which we could not miss. It was very exciting to look behind usually locked doors and gaining a further understanding behind the activities. Over all it was a successful day with interesting insights for ESA and Spacenus.
