Nitrogen uptake map

The nitrogen uptake map shows the amount of nitrogen in kg/ha that plants have absorbed from fertilizers, mineralization and other sources. These sources include, for example, the Nmin content, fixed nitrogen from legume cultivation or atmospheric inputs, the availability of which is influenced by weather conditions and soil properties.

Main advantages:

- Observe how well the plants absorb the applied nitrogen in order to be able to better time the following fertilization measures

- Fertilizer manufacturers can monitor nitrogen uptake at a regional level for demand analysis, distribution and logistics planning.

- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions and nitrate leaching into groundwater by determining the maximum amount of fertilizer for a given field and crop based on historical observations
